NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING EXPERTISE REQUIREMENTS;
In order to become a Non-Destructive Testing Expert, the standards require that the visual adequacy is documented, and the training and experience periods are completed. There is no prerequisite regarding the participant’s education status, however, the periods may be shortened for participants with an associate or bachelor’s degree.
Reductions in training periods may be made for all levels:
For candidates who are working to be certified in more than one method (e.g. MT, PT) or who are currently certified in these and are trying to be certified in another method, when the relevant training curriculum is repeated in certain aspects (e.g. product technology), the total training days for these methods (e.g. PT, MT, VT) may be reduced in accordance with the training curriculum.
For candidates who have graduated from a vocational school (technical college) or university in a relevant subject or who have completed at least two years of relevant engineering or science education in a vocational school or university, the total required training period may be reduced by up to 50%.
For Levels 1 and 2, if the scope of activity is limited in terms of application and/or technique, the scope and duration of training can be reduced by up to 50%.
